Strawberry Shortcake

Just when I thought Fall had arrived here in Memphis! It was a bit chilly Friday morning and stayed in the 70s for most of the day. Yesterday was back to the same o’. Enduring 90+ degree weather these past couple of months (and the heat index reaching 115 degrees a few times) deserves some reprieve now and then.

This is as good a time as any to show you the perfect summer dessert. It’s unpretentious. It’s fruity. It’s delicious. Check, check, check.

Strawberry Shortcake

Yes, it’s missing the whipped cream and vanilla ice cream….
….But didn’t need those extras! Yummmm!

Wanna know a secret about eating this dessert? Indulge outside the club (ask to dine outdoors) so you can people-watch too!

I just finished checking online weather sites. A cooling trend isn’t set to kick-in within the next two weeks. Just as long as the heat index doesn’t hit the 100s, I’m totally fine. Last year was an absolute doozy for me. Pretty much napped every day after work; this year not so much.

And now that my hard drive’s replaced (’twas a cinch to replace; it’s *installing* all the software that takes forever), gosh was I tempted to install Ubuntu as my operating system, but decided against it at the last nanosecond. Fair warning: I’ll be posting left and right this week to make up for lost time.

Stay tuned for Court Square, a park located one street due east from Confederate Park.
