Washington Monument in D.C.

Washington D.C. and Vegas are my top 2 favorite cities, for a multitude of reasons. Of course, I also think Rome (Italy) is a fave, but ’cause I haven’t been there yet, it’s a wee bit presumptuous on my part.

D.C. is beyond incredible. The buildings are gynormous. There are breathtaking memorials and monuments. The museum exhibits are first-rate…and they cost nada to get in! There’s a million and one things to gawk at and do there. You’ll never be bored unless you’re a real fuddy-dud.

Here’s the obelisk in Tom Lee Park in Memphis. Compare it to the Washington Monument. It’s the cute “mini me” version. LOL

The following photos are from my 1st trip to D.C. with my ex-before-last.

According to Wikipedia, the Washington Monument stands 555 feet 5 1/8 inches

Not sure where this was taken considering we had put a lot of mileage on our feet that day
