Elfreth’s Alley

When I was planning for our Philadelphia day trip last year, this was a must-see.  Elfreth’s Alley is a cobblestone street (I’d never seen one before), and coincidentally, “Our nation’s oldest residential street”.

After I spotted this alley, Chip didn’t want to stop so I could jump out the rental to snap a pic or two.  Instead, he insisted on finding a parking space, which wasn’t easy to come by.  We finally got lucky on the third try of driving around block after block.  This cobblestone-lined street and lovely brick homes (built between 1728-1836) are quite unique.
