This 4-story public library in Memphis, Tennessee, gets the title for “most aesthetically-pleasing” in my book. I’ve spent a good chunk of my time in nearly a dozen (majority of ’em in San Diego from grade school through college) and this one wins hand-down.
Besides its looks, there are plenty of computers on the 2nd-4th floors (I never really bothered with exploring the 1st floor, much to my chagrin).
Finding a book was a breeze since they were always so orderly. The librarians were very helpful. Loved their online book reservation system too.

PS: I’m bummed I didn’t get a chance to go inside this library…

Omigosh, I can’t forget mentioning a wonderful French bakery is a minute (okay, two) walk from the Memphis Central Library in the Chickasaw Oaks Village Mall…
