Consequently what happens when I spontaneously decide to have dinner on Beale Street without my camera is…… I resort to showing my leftovers.
My day started out strangely enough. You know how a song gets stuck in your head and you’re humming along or singing it over and over? (I can’t be the only person this happens to!). Well, for me, sometimes it extends to craving a particular food too. I wanted spaghetti baaadly, and ended up on Beale of all places! There are no Italian restaurants on Beale (that I know of, anyway). I popped inside each restaurant to look at their menu. Finally, the eager crew at King’s Palace Cafe insisted even though it wasn’t on their dinner menu, they *can* whip up some spaghetti for me, Memphis style. Heck, I’m living in one of the Barbecue capitals of the nation. They didn’t have to twist my arm all that much. The verdict: It was tangy, and outstanding! The BBQ wasn’t overwhelming at all. Ain’t gonna lie, had my doubts, but now I’m a fully reformed believer….in Memphis BBQ!

Don’t ask me how I managed to save room for dessert.
Orleans Parrish Bread Pudding
Homemade country biscuits, egg custard, cinnamon and chocolate chips. All combined to create this rich bread pudding. Topped with Jim Beam Butter Sauce. Yummm!
OMG, both were still delicious as ever sitting in the fridge overnight.
The Kress Building will be my next post.
