Krusteaz Blueberry Pancakes

Sunday mornings were super cool growing up. My oldest brother, hands-down the best cook of the family, cooked eggs to each of our specifications (i.e. scrambled, over-easy) and I’d whip up Bisquick pancakes on the electric griddle!

I brought back the Pancake “tradition” in my last two relationships. The ex-before-last and I enjoyed the Krusteaz brand: Buttermilk (the ex’s choice) and Blueberry (mine). With the last ex, I made ’em from scratch. When I find the recipe, I’ll post it. I’m salivating just thinkin’ about it.

Krusteaz is surprisingly goooood for a pancake mix. Maybe these pictures will convince ya. I’m not sure I’m up for starting up the Sunday pancake tradition again right now (give me a couple of months, I just moved to a new time zone and desperately trying to get acclimated to my surroundings), but you never know, I’m unpredictable like that.

Argh! One of these days, I’ll get used to cooking with a gas stove.
It looks kinda burnt, but it really wasn’t. Honest!

OMG, two noteworthy restaurants for awesome pancakes are Sam & Omie’s in Nags Head (Outer Banks, North Carolina) and Richard Walker’s Pancake House in downtown San Diego.  Mmmm, good memories.
