Two days ago (September 4th) was National Macadamia Nut Day.
Macadamias are so dang good, and they’re especially yummy in chocolate chip cookies. Mmmm.
Vacationing in Oahu a few months ago, they were in all the stores we stopped in. The ABC Store we bought chocolates from had every variety imaginable.
The ABC Convenience Store near our hotel in Waikiki (not the one we purchased goodies from) (photo from this post)
We picked out a box from each of the two leading brands, Mauna Loa and Hawaiian Host…
These last two somehow made it back home with us
This box wasn’t as tasty We really liked the other one better (macadamia nuts covered in milk chocolate is a simple, yet perfect combo)
I sampled this coffee at Tropical Farms in Ka’a’awa (on the windward/east side of Oahu)…
Wowza, absolutely delicious! (photo from this post)
Samples are offered (the bowls with tongs on top) for every macadamia nut flavor they sell too…
Caramel Glazed & Roasted Salted
They also have these flavors:
Honey Roasted & Kona Coffee Glazed
Roasted Salted & Cinnamon Glazed
Maui Onion & Garlic….and Roasted Unsalted
And last, but not least…
Caramel Macadamia Popcorn
Our Tropical Farms Tour was AWESOME! From the tour guide, to the hilarious outdoor show, breathtaking scenic views, sampling fruits (and macadamia nuts and coffee!)…
The hour-long tour is a must-do (photo from this post)
