Our day began at Aloha Tower …followed by walking around Historic Honolulu …and Kawaiahao Church, then eventually the Ala Moana Center. And just like Aloha Tower Marketplace, I had brought a list of will-only-see-in-Hawaii type stores I had to see firsthand.
Let’s start with this…
Bar is on the uppermost level
As for the mall itself…
Like duuuude, isn’t this a gnarly surfboard? Surprisingly, the sales reps at this store and another one (in mall) wouldn’t allow me to take photos while inside their store
Coordinate outfits for the entire family
Tropical-themed fabrics
Only in Hawaii :p
‘Cause I collect magnets as my travel souvenirs, I saved the best store for last…
Wooden picture frames
We picked out this magnet (now hanging on our fridge)
Beautiful Peace Lilies in the parking lot
From the mall, we took the bus towards our hotel, and at the last minute, jumped off at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for ice cream…
“Heavenly Hana” on a waffle cone (Chip’s selection) Creamy chocolate ice cream with delicate swirls of marshmallow ribboned throughout with our handmade chunks of white chocolate covered macadamia nuts, dark chocolate almond chunks, chocolate bits & roasted almonds
It only took me an eternity to decide, but I went with “Mauna Kea’s Secret” White chocolate ice cream swirled with raspberry sorbet and loaded with chocolate chips and chocolate brownies
Afterwards, we walked off every last lick of our ice cream by taking a stroll along the beach :p …
The scenic route back to our hotel (I’ll guess a mile) The red arrow is where we were for the next 2 photos
The Waikiki Beach Walk has shops and restaurants on both sides of Lewers Street…
And that’s a wrap for our 1st day sightseeing. The next day, we scored Thai food and more cupcakes….and finally got to gaze at the stained-glass dome.
One comment for “Ala Moana Center, Lappert’s Hawaii, and Waikiki Beach Walk”
