Desserts for Valentine’s Day (Desserts #10 & #11)

I shouldn’t stop at one fruity dessert!  I might as well keep the momentum going.

In any large city, it goes without saying that patience is a virtue if you’re trying to find parking in downtown. Le Cake Chateau is tucked between other shops in San Diego, and any empty parking spaces along the street is swooped up in a heartbeat. I parked a few blocks away, dropped in some change at the meter, and took a leisurely stroll on a gorgeous sunny day. I remembered thinking I was in the mood for something “different”. Of course, I wasn’t entirely sure what that meant, but when I got to Le Cake Chateau, it all came together: I chose their Pineapple Cake.

Would you believe me (a dessertie!) if I said I never had a fruit tart ’til last year? And because I had gone with their chocolate-covered goodies before, I did a 180 at satisfying my sweet tooth. With a variety of fruits, I figured it had to be healthy and good for me!  A fruit salad in dessert form. Yumm! Don’t think I’ll ever pass up Fruit Tarts ever again!
