If there was ever a time I winged it, this was it! LOL
I broke in my new Farberware 2-Quart double boiler…
…To make these babies…
Oreo Madness
My base ingredients….
Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips, Double Stuf Heads or Tails Oreo, and Jif creamy peanut butter
In my kitchen cabinet, I found leftover morsels (white chocolate chips, mini AND regular-size semi-sweet chocolate chips), so I used those too!
HOW I MADE THESE AWESOMELY RICH TREATS:
Carefully removed one side of each Oreo cookie (left the creme attached on the other side), then separated them into 3 different plates (original Oreos with creme, golden Oreo with creme, both color Oreos without creme).
Using only the Oreos with creme, slathered on a layer of creamy peanut butter, then topped with 10 mini chocolate chips. Re-paired with same color creme Oreo. (I got around 17 pairs total). Using double boiler, melted the Ghirardelli milk chocolate. Dipped Oreos in the Ghirardelli. (Had enough for 13 pairs).
For the last plate (Oreos without any creme)……..
I melted the leftover white chocolate morsels in the double boiler. Added layer of white chocolate to an Oreo, then a layer of peanut butter, and topped with ~10 mini chocolate chips. Paired with same color Oreo. After they were all paired up, melted semi-sweet chocolate chips (using double boiler), then dipped all remaining Oreos.
Oreos fans will have a love-hate relationship with these! Love ’em ’cause they are triple-whammy good (Oreos + peanut butter + chocolate)….and absolutely hate it when they’re all gone!
