Giveaway: Choose from five $25 gift cards
I had it all set. The theme of this giveaway is “The Road”, a book written by Cormac McCarthy. Last year, a good friend highly suggested I read it AND even lent me her copy. It’s more or less about a boy and his father’s desperate survival in a post-apocalyptic world. I’m not gonna give any spoilers, but I will say it was extremely difficult for me to get through.
Earlier this year, the release date of the movie was scheduled for November 14th with the hottie Viggo Mortensen starring! Guys: Charlize Theron has a small part. Well, I just checked before writing this post and the movie has been pushed back to next year! (Noooooooo!) Oh well……. I’m soooo not letting this minor detail derail me. LOL.
Your gift card choices are:
- AMC Theatres – Reminder: “Quantum of Solace” (James Bond movie) will be out on November 14th
- Shell Gas – I know, $25 may not fill up your tank, but it’s something!
- iTunes – because driving isn’t quite the same without your tunes playin’
- Barnes & Noble – if I’ve somehow piqued your interest in reading “The Road”
- Starbucks – ’cause liquid nourishment makes driving a breeze
To enter the drawing, answer these 2 questions:
1) What do you have to have while you’re driving…or in the car? (for me, I need the radio on & ideally bottled water)
2) Which gift card you’d like to receive if you’re the winner–-AMC Theatres, Shell Gas, iTunes, Barnes & Noble, or Starbucks
All ya have to do is “Post a Comment” answering those 2 questions to be entered in the drawing. It’s that easy!
Drawing will close at 9pm PST on Saturday, November 8th. One entry per person, please. One winner will be chosen at random (not based on responses) using Random Integer Generator and will be announced Sunday morning.

Color me surprised, but the Shell card comprised 20% of the selections! I threw it in ’cause it fit perfectly with my theme “The Road”, and because of its popularity, I’ll offer it again soon! I wasn’t planning on doing another giveaway until next week….but since tomorrow (Nov 10th) is the 3 month anniversary of this site/blog, I’ll do a little something. Tune in tomorrow.

P.S. The last entry before this drawing’s 9pm deadline was #723 (Lily). My guess is WordPress didn’t automatically update the time when it “fell back” one hour last week and needs to be reset somehow. Does anyone know how to do that? UPDATE: Never mind. I figured it out. It has to be manually changed in the “Settings”.

I HAVE to have a Dr. Pepper while driving. Heck I think my soda is more important than having gas for the car to run….lol. And I also have to have some soothing music on.
