The saying goes “never judge a book by its cover”. Well, you’d think I would’ve known better than to judge a dessert by its plate, but I did. Let this be a lesson to me because this pie was sooo amazing, paper plate and all. I’m kidding on that last part. I coulda easily had seconds; it was thaaat good!
I have no idea if dining outside was the reason my pie was served on a paper (foam) plate, but I quickly got over it. Once I took a bite, I was every bit distracted, LOL.
Given the choice between the indoors or outdoors, you best believe I’ll go with outdoor dining, especially on Beale Street where you can see signs like this:
And the restaurant sign is just as amusing:
Lately, I’ve been paying closer attention to menus. This list of beers would have tempted me, big time (that’s if I drank, but I don’t…. LOL)
Yesterday my daughter and I were baking brownies, and she said we should make “that peanut butter pie” again. It’s basically a pie-sized Reese’s Peanut Butter cup, and it’s wonderful. When we make the pie, probably next weekend, I’ll send you the recipe!
Peanut Luster Pie was the recipe that I was referring to in my above post. It is a Pillsbury Bake Off winner and can be found at Amazon. “Pillsbury Best of the Bake-Off Cookbook: Recipes from America’s Favorite Cooking Contest”.
