Confederate Park
I think I’ve been in Memphis long enough to establish my favorites like this burger joint. As far as fave place to spend an afternoon? None other than Confederate Park! During the Spring, this was my “spot” to enjoy sunny days. I spent many afternoons reading chapters from David Baldacci’s novels or staring out onto the Mississippi River. The occasional horse-drawn carriages were a good, brief diversion too (those are coool ’cause no two are alike).
The park covers only one city block, but there are benches and lots to see like statues, trees, cannons, views of the river, and cars whizzing by.
Along Front Street, sandwiched between Court Street (a stone’s throw from Madison Avenue) and Jefferson Avenue
On this particular day, I had a few Little Debbie snacks with me.
