A couple of weeks after our first date, my sweetieness, Chip, went in search of a new dining set. Every so often, I tease him that he’s becoming more domesticated hangin’ with me. LOL. The table had to be no wider than 42 inches to fit in the dining/computer room. After spending a whole day fruitlessly looking (if there’s one thing I’ve learned, guys generally hate shopping), he decides to take the easy way out go online. I helped too by checking the online furniture stores in High Point, North Carolina, known as the “Furniture Capital of the World.” Turns out, the best bang for his bucks was Overstock.com and it was pretty much a toss-up between these two:

The slight edge went to:

It arrived less than a week before I moved-in from clear across the country Memphis. It took him nearly 5 hours (over a period of two days) to put together.
The chairs are comfy
We loooove the base
The tabletop
We’ve been super careful but *somehow* accrued a few superficial scratches on the tabletop. In fact, Chip is looking at putting a coat or two of polyurethane to minimize further scratches and to have a glossy finish. When he begins this project (now officially on his Honey-Do List), I’ll post an update. Let’s not remind him he’s getting more domesticated by the week. :p
Coming up next will be the computer chair Chip also ordered from Overstock.
