The Orpheum Theatre in Memphis was built in 1928 and renovated in the early 1980s. Classic movies are shown during the summer (like Gone with the Wind, The Godfather, Wizard of Oz, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Casablanca). It is home to Ballet Memphis and Opera Memphis, and hosts concerts as well as Broadway shows. The current lineup of shows include Wicked (through the end of this month), 9 to 5: The Musical, Shrek: The Musical, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. For the full listing of events, click here.
I snapped these photos throughout the 18 or so months I’ve lived here when I happened to be in the neighborhood (Beale Street :p).

If you’ve seen the Stars on Hollywood Boulevard (in Los Angeles, California)… here in Memphis, we have our own famous sidewalk in front and on the right side of the Orpheum.
