Wonderful things are happening here in Memphis. Yes, we have barbecue…and Beale Street…and Graceland. Bass Pro Shops will be occupying the Memphis Pyramid, slated to re-open late 2011. We also have the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital which grand opened in June. It’s primed to put Memphis on the map as one of the world-renowned hospitals for kiddos. Lots of progress taking place.
A few weeks before the grand opening in June 2010, I was snapping shots of the new, still-under-construction hospital (I took a few last year, and planned on doing a “one year later” type post), and it just so happens the architect also had his camera in hand and I’ve since regretted not asking for a tour….AND I missed the grand opening too! Arrrrgh!

December 4th is when this $340 million hospital will begin seeing patients.
Stay tuned for Cookies & Cream cheesecake from Cheesecake Corner! I’m also gearing up for my contribution for “Elvis Week” (August 10-16) here in Memphis….like Elvis’ booth….or his statue at both the Elvis Presley Plaza and Memphis Visitors’ Center.
