REVIEW: Tuxedo Truffle Napoleon and Triple Chocolate Brownie

By the time my 3rd date with Jeff rolled around, I had a full-blown case of the flu. It hadn’t even been 24 hours, but I was on round-the-clock OTC cold medicine. Surprisingly, Jeff still wanted to spend time with me. I even warned him I was likely highly contagious. The other side of the coin, maybe it was a good idea to expose him to my temperament when I’m feeling the most vulnerable and horrible. I mean, better he find out early on in dating, right? Or was this my delirium talkin’? LOL

Our first stop was a late-lunch/early-dinner at On The Border. I ordered something I had been craving for weeks: Fish Tacos. It was my substitute for Rubio’s, as if that was truly possible. Jeff wasn’t interested in trying ’em (he’s never tried sushi and doesn’t care to either, hmmm, I’m beginning to see a correlation here).

Yummmm!
Fresh flour tortillas stuffed with Dos XX beer-battered, golden fried fish, shredded cabbages and cheese (didn’t want the red chile sauce and pico de gallo)

We made a pit-stop at Borders book store. Feeling lightheaded, I’m glad I made it back to the car without falling on my face. And that’s when I finally noticed the parking lot was decorated with Xmas lights. ‘Tis the only picture that came out:

Next priority was dessert (it’s “our thing”–every date *must* include dessert), and I knew just the place too.

We managed to contain ourselves from devouring our most excellent selections ’til we made it to our fave park (Island Park/Harbor Town Square). I only have these sunset photos, and if I *ever* get my act together, I’ll snap pics of the park.

In the meantime, while you’re waiting (it may be awhile :P), there are lotsa other photos worth checking out like…

Our 1st date’s desserts: Raspberry Chocolate and Caramel White Chocolate Cheesecakes

2nd date desserts: Mississippi Mud Pie and Apple Pie

As far as Jeff, guess he tolerated me well ’caused I scored another date! Believe it or not, he didn’t catch my cooties either. I mustn’t neglect to mention he brought me a handful of blueberry muffins (baked that morning) to snack on. Am I spoiled or what? Heh, don’t answer that.

Stay tuned for Date #4

  1. I love the tuxedo napoleaon from The Fresh Market!! Have any idea where I can get a copycat recipe for this? I doubt I could ever get the real thing, but if it’s close, that be great to make.
