Giveaway: Choose from five $25 gift cards

Welcome to my Thanksgiving Giveaway! Even with all the cRaZInEsS of shopping, gift wrapping, visiting family and friends, cooking/baking, and sleep deprivation…….there’s something magical about this time of year. Hope I’m not the only one, but I’ve already started my annual ritual of listening to Holiday/Christmas music.

Your $25 gift card choices for this drawing are:

  • Best Buy - because people seem to come out of the woodwork to this store during the holidays, especially for Black Friday specials
  • Cheesecake Factory - ’cause their cheesecakes (& desserts) are out of this world!
  • American Express - can be used at any store that accepts AMEX
  • Starbucks - it’s perfect for every day of the year
  • Food 4 Less - Note: This gift card can also be used at its “sister” grocery stores like Kroger, Fry’s, Fred Meyer, QFC, Ralphs, Smith’s, etc.

To enter the drawing, answer these 2 questions in the “Post a Comment” section below:

  1. What’s on the menu for Thanksgiving? Even if you may not be personally doing the cooking or going to someone else’s house to eat, what do you think you’ll be feasting on? (make us salivate, ‘kay?)
  2. Which gift card you’d like to receive if you’re the winner: Best Buy, Cheesecake Factory, American Express, Starbucks, or Food 4 Less

Likely I’ll be partaking in the stereotypical Thanksgiving spread—turkey, stuffing, a few side dishes, pumpkin pie, and whatever desserts I bake.   What tops that is enjoying it all with family & friends…and playing board games too!  Good food and great times ahead. :-)

Drawing will close on Saturday, November 22nd @ 9pm PST. One entry per person, please. One winner will be chosen at random (not based on responses) using Random Integer Generator and will be announced Sunday morning.

If you’d like to be notified of my giveaways (only giveaways, nothing else!), send an email to subscribe [at] yummies4tummies [dot] com

My fine print: Your entries will be used for entertainment purposes only! I will never ever share your private info with others. Winner has 48 hours to respond to my notification, otherwise a new winner will be drawn.

Winner of this drawing is Lacy!!! Please check your email.

I am sooo happy to read most of you have wonderful plans and food planned for Thanksgiving!!! Gosh darn it, I should have asked for your yummy recipes! I think I gained about 10 pounds reading everyone’s menus.

Hope everyone has a super Thanksgiving Day and a fun time shopping on Black Friday…and in the coming weeks!

I have three $5 In-N-Out Gift Cards left-over from my previous giveaway, so I’ll be posting that drawing either later today or tomorrow (November 24th).

  1. We will be eating at our daughter’s house…turkey and all the trimmings. My husband I will be bringing most of the food! I would prefer the Cheesecake Factory, but Starbucks would be great too!

  2. We are having a toned down version of the standard thanksgiving fare this year. Most of the family is gone this year and with just my hubby, one daughter and myself to dine, we will have a small turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.

The card I would love to win is the American Express card. Thanks so much for this opportunity.

Then just had a quiet evening at home with our stuffed tummies.

I’m sure we’ll have turkey and stuffing and sweet potatoes. My aunts all make luscious desserts, so there will probably several kinds of cheesecake to go with the normal appple and pumpkin pies.

Now I’m hungry! Thanks a lot.

I’d choose the Food 4 Less card, because we have Fred Meyer here, and I could use the card to grab a couple things for the kids for Christmas.

  73. I am a little scared to post this, but we won’t be making turkey for Thanksgiving *waits for tomatoes to be thrown and ducks*

In my defense, we are European (dh is Swiss, I’m Italian); I have never made turkey, and I really don’t feel like experimenting when I have guests over :-)

So I’ll make Mediterranean Herbed Roasted Chicken, garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes, string beans with garlic and mushrooms and probably a pie or two, either Blueberry Pie with almond crumb topping or maple pumpkin pie with maple pecan cream.

    73 Posted by Elisa | November 18, 2008, 10:09 am

Anyway, I plan to make the chocolate pie on the green German Chocolate box (Baker’s Chocolate, I think?). My mom always makes it, but since my parents are in Florida now, I must carry on the chocolatey goodness myself. And watch my mother-in-law get mad, because it’s not her tradition. Okay, must focus, and think good thoughts. I will survive this! LOL
Anyway, I would want the Cheesecake Factory or American Express gift card. I would use the Cheesecake Factory for a reason to go out on my birthday next month and the American Express gift card would be used on Christmas gifts for my husband.
Great giveaway, and thanks for the opportunity to vent :)

We always have turkey, cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, cranberry sauce, candied sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, fruit salad, sweet tea, pumpkin pie with cool whip, at least one other kind of pie (dutch apple and/or pecan), and usually at least one other dessert (cheesecake, brownies, cookies, etc.). Since my husband is picky with what veggies he eats, my mom will most likely also be serving mashed potatoes with cream gravy and buttery broccoli florets as well.
Only thing different this year is that I’m newly expecting, so though my tongue salivates at the thought of all the yummy holiday food…I’m hoping I actually get to enjoy it!! It’ll be worth it all next year when baby gets here…but I’m hoping baby lets me eat this year!! :-D

But here’s my favorite part - all made from scratch: pumpkin pie, coconut pie, chocolate cake! Yes, mam!

I’d love a Gift Card from any of those places, but if I have to choose, I guess I’ll go with the Amex card first and Best Buy second. :)

I’m making a Carmel Pecan cheesecake, a pumpkin cheesecake, a ham, and spinach dip to contribute to our Thanksgiving dinner, at which there will be over 40 people attending (big family, bigger extended family!). Of course we’ll have the typical turkey, stuffing, etc… But the thing I’m looking forward to most is my dad’s sweet potatoes! They are seriously my favorite thing EVER!!

So, I’m not totally sure what to expect, but I’d imagine it’d be the regular Thanksgiving layout like turkey, cranberry, potatos, green beans, rolls, pie, etc.

Which gift card you’d like to receive if you’re the winner: first pick would be Starbucks, second pick Cheesecake Factory, third pick Best Buy

Her ham is cooked the same. She made wonderful stuffing too- real cranberries! Yum! This year I am trying a new recipie- a cheese cake pumpkin pie. I had it once and it was to die for.

Thank you! Would just LOVE to win the American Express card!

  289. My roommate and I can’t tear ourselves away from our schoolwork long enough to get home for the holidays, so we’re going to have to wing it for Thanksgiving. We have a couple of organic turkey breasts coming in, with orchard fresh apples to make stuffing. We’re also planning mashed sweet potatoes, green bean casserole (you really can’t have Thanksgiving without it), and I even stole my mom’s famous bread recipe. We’ve got mulled mead to drink. For dessert, we’re staying pretty traditional with a homemade pumpkin pie. We picked out the pumpkin yesterday! I’m so excited.

An AmEx card could come in awfully handy for Black Friday.

Funny to have warm weather on Thanksgiving!

  474. I like to cook a lot at Thanksgiving. This year we’re going to have a turkey basted with herbs, butter and draped with bacon and stuffed inside with citrus and more herbs. It comes out delicious and juicy. I have an old family recipe for a wonderful lime whipped salad on the side along with green bean casserole. I fix a special cornbread stuffing with bacon. Then I vary the desserts and other sides every year. This year I think I’m going to make an orange cake for dessert and am thinking roasted asparagus as the other side.

I would love to win any of the gift cards but since I have to pick I will say American Express.

  527. I have never in my 38 years spent a Christmas or Thanksgiving away from my parents home and honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way. Holidays are for families.

It will be the tradition dinner, Turkey, mom’s homemade sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, cranberries, olives, veggie tray, homemade rolls (oh yum!) and of course homemade pumpkin pie with REAL whipped cream to top off your achey stomach….then it is clean up and NAP time because you know you have to get in some good sleep before you get up in the middle of the night so you can freeze your butt off standing in line for Black Friday at some store that is going to give 10 ‘whatevers’ out…but really I love it, I have met some of the biggest yabbers out there!

You know you are making it hard throwing that AMEX card in there but I still think I would have to go with the Cheesecake Factory, we finally got one near us, we went, I ordered Vanilla Bean…OMG!!! dream in your mouth delicious!!! I am watering just thinking about it.

Thank you for the chance and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

  607. Every year since I can remember Thanksgiving is always at my parents home. My mother does the main dish and all of us kids bring the rest. We always have the traditional American Thanksgiving Feast which is a huge Turkey that my mother will bake and my father will carve. My mother also makes her chestnut and raisin stuffing which is out of this world! My husband and I will descend upon their house with our 3 young children and we are bringing this year the butternut squash, mashed potatoes, and rolls. My sister and her husband come with their 4 children and they are bringing the deserts which are pies that they bake themselves. My sisters husband went to a culinary school at one time in his life so he is quite the little top chef in their home. All in all, we eat way too much, but it is my favorite meal of the year that I look forward to each Thanksgiving! Thank you so much for this wonderful giveaway and giving me the chance to share my story! I would choose the American Express Gift Card, but really I would find great use with any one of them and would be truly thankful!

Everyone brings a family favorite dish and we fiest on everything but we enjoy the gathering most of all. If I am choosen, I would appreciate the American Express Gift Card. Thank you. 646. Besides the traditional turkey and company, we have Paska Bread with raisins…an old-fashioned treat, that brings back memories of Grandma in the Depression and this was her gift to give to other families…we do the same each year!

Would love the Best buy card for a favorite elf in my house!

    Thanksgiving Blessings to all…
